Freebies - MySavings

I love free stuff. I just get a real kick out of getting things for free.

That being said, I have to share my go-to freebie site:

MySavings: Free Samples, Free Stuff, Freebies and Coupons

I've bookmarked MySavings as one of my homepages in my browser. I check it at least once a day, because there are new freebies being posted constantly. It essentially catalogs all free samples and free items available anywhere. You have to sign up to get access to the offers, but it's completely safe; I've never had any trouble with emails from MySavings. I always go to the "New Free Samples" page, which typically lists the freebies added in the past week or so. Use the links on the left to explore freebies older than that by category, many of which are still active offers.

You will find a variety of freebies here--small samples, full-size items, printable coupons (to redeem in-store for free items)... most are online-based, but some require you to send an email or call a toll-free number. If you think you could ever use the item or know someone who could, send off for it. There's nothing to lose, and it's all free!

*Tip: this is one of those situations where having a "junk" email address is highly beneficial. Most of these are completely legit freebies and won't get you signed up for spam, but it never hurts to be careful!

Spartanburg Herald-Journal RedPlum coupons 2/14

Here are the coupons included in today's Herald-Journal. There was only one insert today, but the coupons included are pretty good. Keep in mind that inserts vary by paper, so your local paper will be slightly different. Jenny at Southern Savers has posted the "official list" release here.

*Note: If you don't subscribe to your local paper, at least the Sunday edition, it's a must-have for couponing purposes. You can always buy a copy at the closest newsstand, but it ends up being a lot more expensive. However, I noticed that the Sunday Greenville News is sold at my local Ingles for $.98, which isn't bad! Whatever you choose to do, I absolutely recommend getting a paper every Sunday.

That's 79.21 worth of coupons. Obviously you won't use them all--that's nearly impossible for any one household--but that's the value of this magazine. The only retail location to purchase All You is Walmart, where it sells for about $2.50 an issue. Buy a subscription on Amazon instead and save; choose a year subscription at $1.50 each, or 2 years at $1.40 each. It is completely worth it!

A new venture

In my recent, seemingly endless quest to save money and get free stuff, I have realized a few things...

1) Everyone is blogging but me!

2) Blogs can earn money...

3) I think I actually have things to say that people might be interested in reading in a blog.

To elaborate on that last bit, a lot of people have asked me about couponing, saving, surveys, shopping, and freebies, and I feel like a blog would be a good way to share that information. I also realized that I run into a lot of opportunities to try new products on the market (through product test panels, free samples, or just adventurous shopping), and I would like a way to share that information as well.

So, here you go... I will be using this blog to share sites, tips, experiences, and thoughts on all of the above. It will likely be slow to get things going, but I have a feeling this could be helpful once I get the basics posted. Stay tuned!
